Medway RFC 63 - 17 Old Reigatian 1st XV

Saturday OR's travelled to Rochester in Kent to play Medway RFC. Medway, like last week's opponents have hit a rich vein of form recently winning their last six games. Once Old Reigatians are struggling with injuries missing key players such as Tom Allen, Dan Jones, Sam Foreman & Ryan Taylor Travers.

Following last weeks heavy defeat the hope was to restore some pride and show the class that two weeks ago put them in the frame for promotion.

The early exchanges looked as if Medway were confident and running the ball at pace and width but Reigatian were defending well and there were a few signs of given the chance players like Gareth Stephens, Max Coyle & Alex Skinner could cause the home side problems. However two tries one in 5 minutes and another after 19 gave the home team a 14 lead the Reigate hit back with a Penalty from returning Vice Captain Lucas Overtoom. But as the half finish Medway scored their third try to make it 21-3 at Half Time. With the game only needing two scores to be back in the game. Instead the first 15 minutes of the second half saw three home tries to make it 38-3 and heads dropped from the visitors and player fell off tackles and apart from one length of the field score finished off by Scrum Half Alex Skinner it was all one way traffic! Except the final move of the game with debut Winger Chris Chalder scoring OR’s second try. Final score 63-17
