Old Reigatian RFC

ORRFC U16’s vs Old Ruts Match Report

For the second time this season the U16’s made their way to Mitcham to play Old Ruts. Their first encounter had seen complete dominance from OR’s in the first half, but lacks of concentration and showing they needed more fitness to continue at the blistering pace they had started with, which allowed Old Ruts to come back and squeeze a draw.

Both teams wanted to make sure they came out on top in their second encounter. With two very physically strong teams, it was going to be an interesting game.

However, Old Reigatian RFC obviously wanted it more, and were far more effective in all areas of the pitch. Old Ruts were trying to rely on brute strength, but to no avail as Old Reigatian were just too strong in defence and attack.

With methodical play and devastatingly accurate kicking from A Webb both from the tee and in play, Old Ruts were never really able to get a foothold in the game. Even with new blood in the squad, it was obvious to see that the team have gelled and there is strength and depth in the players available.

From the offset it was very clear to see that Old Reigatian had no intention of a repeat of the last match, and the speed and hands in the backs set up so well by the strength of the forwards was constant throughout the game.

Final score; Old Ruts 0 – 52 Old Reigatian RFC
