Dear ORRFC girls, minis and juniors Volunteers
At Old Reigatian Rugby Club, our commitment to the safeguarding of children and adults is paramount. We uphold this commitment by adhering to the RFU safeguarding guidance and policies. That policy and our recruitment of volunteer’s process can now be found on our website.
We thank all those who have completed their Headcase and Introduction to Safeguarding training and undergone the necessary DBS checks. Your commitment to this process is fundamental as it ensures a safe environment for all involved with ORRFC. For those who have not yet completed your training or submitted their DBS application, we urge you to reach out to our safeguarding officer, Rachel Gilroy, by Friday 25th October 2024, if there is any reason you cannot complete the training and DBS check. You can contact Rachel on 07952 626266. The main committee at ORRFC clearly states that all those volunteering with children at the club must complete the DBS check and Headcase and Introduction to Safeguarding.
Safeguarding entails more than just these initial checks. It’s about fostering a culture where the well-being of every individual is upheld and prioritised. In recognition of this and your contributions to coaching and supporting children at the club this season, we will be hosting a volunteer evening on the 16th January 2025 from 7pm – 8.30pm. During this event there will be a special focus on safeguarding and its significance at ORRFC. Refreshments will be available. Further details will follow soon.
Together, let’s ensure that the core values of safeguarding resonate throughout our club.
Thank you for your attention to this matter,
Warm Regards,
Rachel Gilroy
Safeguarding Officer, Old Reigatian Rugby Club
