Reigatian were on a four match winning streak and had been playing with confidence.<\/p>\n
Both Teams tried to play expansive Rugby and for the neutral it was an entertaining fixture.<\/p>\n
Guildford got the first score of the day with a well struck penalty after three minutes to gain a 0-3 lead. But obviously three points was never going to be enough over 80 minutes but both sides tried to get the first try of the day and both teams dug deep in defence in a very physical exchange.<\/p>\n
It wasn\u2019t until thirty minutes had passed when OR\u2019s Captain managed to force his way over the try line to score a try and regain the lead. With the home team missing this season highest points scoring Lucas Overtoom with concussion the conversion was missed and the game finely balanced at 5-3. However this wasn\u2019t the case for long with Guildford showing their intent and how much they needed the win and came straight back at the home team to score a try on the stoke of Half Time with the conversion good Guildford led 5-10 at Half Time.<\/p>\n
Despite the belief during the interval that it was vital Reigatian scored first in the second half it seemed Guildford started with more desire and after 12 minutes they added another unconverted try making it 5-15. Again the game became very physical and hard for either team to play with any width or structure with both teams closing down any attacks very quickly and importantly for Guildford starving OR\u2019s strike runners like Gareth Stephens and Finn Coyle any space to use their pace.<\/p>\n
In the 28th minute Guildford broke through for another try to put the gam eout of reach for the home side, this time the conversion was good 5-22.<\/p>\n
Finn Coyle finally got the ball with some space and showed his class down the left wing cutting in to score under the posts for his 17th try in 18 games.<\/p>\n
The final score 12-22 credit to Guildford the better team on the day. One last league left of Reigatian\u2019s first season at Level 6 back where it started playing Farnham. Always a close and hard fought fixture. 15:00 kick off at Park Lane<\/p>\n
