OR\u2019s made a fantastic start and ran the ball with width and tempo which Sidcup found hard to cope with, after sustained attack the home team gave away a Penalty which Vice Captain Lucas Overtoom had no hesitation converting for a 0-3 lead. In the seventh minutes after some great handling Lock Dan Grant found some space and scored the first try of the afternoon Overtoom converted 0-10.<\/p>\n

With Sidcup\u2019s first time into OR\u2019s half they were awarded a Line out close to the line. Their big pack set up the driving maul which proved difficult to stop and the home side closed the gap to 7-10. The visitors continued to play with pace and following a break from Ryan Taylor Travers he manged to offload to Dan Jones who would not be stopped from that distance out. Again Overtoom slotted the conversion 5-17. Back came the Sidcup pack with an almost identical try from a Line Out 10-17 with Half Time approaching the Reigate team scored another Penalty through Overtoom 10-20. But on the stroke of half time Sidcup scored a well worked try making the score 17-20 at the break.<\/p>\n

The start of the second half was disappointing with the home side scoring a couple of tries in quick succession one of which was converted 29-20. This proved to be a massive shift in momentum the Home side suddenly playing with confidence that a winning streak provides and Reigatian lost the pace and attacking flair that had looked so dangerous in the first half. The home pack kept the pressure on and scored a push over try to put the game out of reach. The home side managed another two tries and with the score 48-20, Reigatian\u2019s seemed to throw caution to the wind and again produced some outstanding Rugby Max Coyle made an outstanding break to set up Ryan Taylor Travers for a try and the in the last minute Ben Holder scored in the corner to make the final score 48-32. The try scoring bonus point put Reigatian 4th in the league matching last season\u2019s placing on even points with Medway in third. OA\u2019s beat Medway to claim the league win and promotion and we wish them well next season in Reg 1.<\/p>\n

This was not the end of the day for the Reigatian players with their end of season dinner that evening with the traditional awards presented. On the whole a good season, areas to work on before next season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Sidcup who started the season with fixture defeats on the trot have managed to turn their season around and going into this fixture hadn\u2019t lost since December winning their last nine fixtures.
