Chair of ORRFC girls’ section, Iain Woodhams said: ‘It was fantastic to watch our four girls play so well in this international 7s competion. It was an amazing experience. Lily, Liv, Mollie and Jocelyn are known for being strong 15 players, so playing 7s at this level was a new experience, especially playing against world-class rugby 7s specialists. They each played brilliantly. I was so proud of them.’

In the quarter finals, the girls were beaten by the eventual runners up of the tournament, Australia U18s. In the final, Australia was narrowly beaten by a skilled and disciplined national team from Japan.
All four ORRFC girls put their heart and soul into each game, under blisteringly hot sun, while still recovering from jet lag. Lily and Liv took joint top honours as the Eggchaser U18 girls top try scorers over the three days of competition.
Alongside each of them becoming better 7s players, they made wonderful memories and new friends.
