Following 3 wins in their group against Wimbledon, Seaford and Burgess Hill Adders, their semi-final opponents were old foes, Guildfordians . A very close match in an entertaining game Reigate All Stars moved onto the final where they played the other BH side, Burgess Hill Panthers. Reigate All Stars were up against it as their opponents threatened the try line again and again only for resolute defence from the All Stars kept them out. One score down, final play of the game saw the All Stars move the ball rapidly from one wing to the other until the crack in the Panthers defence opened and they scored. Match drawn and it was decided to play “1st try wins” extra time. A repeat of the rapid movement of the ball and another crack was opened and the All Stars were in. Victory!!!
As always, the tournament was very well organised and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone including a surprise visit from our illustrious captain, Hamish “McSkip” Turnbull, convalescing after his surgery.
