Old Reigatian 1st XV v Sidcup, Match Report
Saturday 2nd Sept saw the start of a new season at Park Lane with Old Reigatian hosting Sidcup who last season were relegated from Regional 1. A few new faces in the ORs line up with Ciaran Lee starting at Prop having joined over the summer from Cobham. A welcome return to Will Godwin having earned 100 consecutive caps for Reigatian 1st XV Will had a break last season but has returned this season to reclaim his 1st XV spot. With Lucas Overtoom recovering from a turned ankle the number 10 shirt was filled by Conor Woods. !8 year old Conor only left Reigate Grammar School last year and collected his A level results a few weeks ago. Conor has looked a class act in pre season and everybody was excited to see his league debut. Lastly Tom Allen started at 12 having now finish at Nottingham Uni and welcomed back to his local Club.
Old Reigatian 2nd XV v Dorking 3rd XV, Match Report
Two well matched sides fought out an enthralling opener at Park Lane on Saturday; Dorking edging the result with literally the last kick of the game. (21-22)
1st XV v Battersea Ironsides, Papa Johns Cup SF – 29th April, 2023, Match Report
Saturday Old Reigaitian 1st XV travelled to Grasshoppers RFC in Isleworth for the Semi Final of the Papa John Community Cup to face Battersea Ironsides. With a win a piece in the League and Old Reigatian finishing one place above Ironsides it was always going to be a finely balanced match.
1st XV v Brentwood, Papa Johns Cup QF – 22nd April, 2023, Match Report
OLD Reigatian director of rugby Richie Andrews hopes that they can use the confidence from Saturday’s crushing 66-17 Papa John’s Men’s Community Cup Regional Two South Plate quarter-final victory over Brentwood when they face Battersea Ironsides for a place in the final.
1st XV v Newbury, Papa Johns Cup R2 – 15th April, 2023, Match Report
On Saturday Old Reigatian 1st XV travelled to Berkshire to play Ex National 1 side Newbury Blues. Newbury finished third in their Regional 2 Tribute South Central in the South West Division.
