Centenary Memorabilia Search Continues – Tell us About Tour

To all Old Reigatian players, past and present.

As you know, Peter Tharp and I are writing the history of Old Reigatian RFC as part of the club’s centenary celebrations. One significant part of the rugby playing history was the tours undertaken across the decades, starting in the 1960s. While Password, Teamsheets and Annual Reports wrote that these tours happened and occasionally remembered to mention who they played and the results, we are looking for some of the stories, memories and anecdotes from those who were there. I know what goes on tour, etc., and a lot of what happened probably should remain unheard; there will be some joyous moments you can recall that would help paint the picture of great times had by all.

We’re looking for no more than 500 words to edit into the chapter. Photos are rare as cameras were not used in the way they are now, but if you do have any, copies would be welcome. These writings and photos will also go into the archives that we’re slowly organising into a historical record that can be viewed by any member. If you can donate material, please email it to me or leave it at the clubhouse, clearly marking who you are, what you’re donating and any history that goes with your donation.

My thanks to you.
