Girls' Rugby
Girls’ rugby at Old Reigatian RFC is thriving, a proper community of energy, ambition, and muddy-kneed brilliance. New to the sport? You’ll fit right in. Already a confident player? Even better. The section prides itself on being open to every girl who wants to pick up a ball, make new friends, and enjoy the game at her own pace.
What makes it special is the progression ladder running through it. Many players start with zero experience and quickly discover they’re capable of far more than they imagined. Others push through the age groups and find themselves representing Surrey, the South East, and even pulling on international shirts. That’s the magic of a club that mixes grassroots encouragement with high-performance coaching.
Whether someone is here for fitness, fun, teamwork, or to chase the dream of elite rugby, the ORRFC girls’ programme has the structure, spirit, and support to get them there. The moment they step onto the pitch, they’re part of something bigger, and that’s where the adventure begins.

Club Representatives
The Girls’ section is backed by a proper support structure, the sort of behind-the-scenes network that keeps everything running smoothly while the players get on with the rugby. At the top of it sits Iain Woodhams, Girls’ Chairman, steering the programme with equal parts enthusiasm and organisation. Alongside him is a dedicated Safeguarding Officer, ensuring every training session and match environment remains safe, supportive, and fully compliant with RFU guidance.
The team also includes a qualified First Aider who handles bumps, bruises, and the occasional heroic diving try gone slightly sideways. Rounding it off is the club’s DBS lead, ensuring all coaches and volunteers are correctly vetted so parents can trust the system as much as the players trust each other. Together, they create the backbone that lets the girls thrive, progress, and enjoy the game in the best possible environment.
