With our close links with Eggchaser, our section is proud to see many of our girls head to Austria over the weekend of June 21/22 for a fabulous experience at the United World Games 7’s tournament.
BIG shout out to u16 squad mates Erin James and Ella Jones, who as part of the Eggchaser SKY team, won gold, comprehensively beating a very physical Dutch team!!
Maggie Byrne and Olive Malik finished in bronze place in the U16 with their team.
Due to an age deadline quirk in European rugby, squadmates Matilda Fox, Olivia Upton, Evelyn Fairbrother and Saffron Selvon-Bruce played in the U14 group. After winning all 4 group games, they faced a feisty Lithuanian squad, and with injuries to Evelyn and Tilly, they just couldn’t secure the win, finishing in silver place.
Special mention to Molly Thomson, who managed to play in the U18 and U16 teams, winning gold with the younger group.
