One of our older Old Reigatians, Geoff Brown, passed away on Sunday 6th September. He was at Reigate Grammar School in the late 1940s and played in various ORRFC teams from the 1st XV to the Nondescripts in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, playing over 120 games for the 1st XV.
Geoff was a man full of humour, which manifested itself in many ways, especially on rugby tours. He was a very skilful player in the backs, a loyal and dedicated Club Member who had a hand in building the old Clubhouse. He also initiated the decorating of the ceiling in the Bar area of the Old Clubhouse, which became quite a famous feature and is still recalled by many of those who played at or visited the Club at that time or when the ORRFC is mentioned in conversation.
It is unfortunate that many of you who read this will not have had the pleasure of playing rugby with Geoff or being in conversation with him but suffice it to say that he was a great Old Reigatian who contributed much to our Club.
