Boys' Rugby
Boys’ Rugby at ORRFC for ages 12–18 is where raw enthusiasm starts turning into real rugby know-how. It’s the stage where players begin to find their preferred positions, grow into their strength and speed, and learn the kind of teamwork that makes the sport addictive for life.
The environment is competitive but never exclusive; every ability level is welcome, from late starters to seasoned youngsters who already live and breathe match days. Coaching focuses on skills, confidence, and character, with players encouraged to push themselves while still keeping the game fun and social.
These are the years where friendships form, talent emerges, and the boys discover just how far they can go in the sport, whether they dream big or simply want to enjoy rugby with a great group of teammates.

Club Representatives
The Junior boys’ setup is backed by a dependable support network that keeps everything running smoothly from Sunday mornings to match-day touchlines. Jonathan Burton, Junior Chair, oversees the whole programme, ensuring every age group has the structure, coaches, and resources they need to thrive.
Working alongside him are the safeguarding leads who ensure every player is looked after properly, plus qualified first aiders who keep an eye on the inevitable bumps and bangs that come with committed rugby. Behind the scenes, the club’s DBS processes help maintain a fully vetted coaching team, giving parents confidence and players a safe, positive environment to grow in. Altogether, it’s a system that lets the boys focus on learning the game, building friendships, and enjoying their rugby journey.
