Senior men’s rugby at ORRFC is the beating heart of the club, competitive, ambitious, and powered by a squad that mixes serious talent with the kind of camaraderie you only get in grassroots rugby.
The 1st XV fly the flag in Regional 2 South East, playing fast, physical rugby backed by a coaching setup that pushes standards higher every season. Right behind them is the AXV, competing in the Surrey Championship and providing the perfect proving ground for players breaking through, returning from injury, or simply loving the battle every weekend.

And this is just the start. A new 3rd team is on the horizon to give even more players a route into the club game, while the Vets carry the torch for experience, craft, and the subtle art of pretending you didn’t feel that last tackle. The Under-22s bridge the jump between junior and senior rugby, giving young athletes a clear pathway into adult competition.
All of it sits within ORRFC’s outstanding facilities. Top-quality pitches, superb clubhouse space, and an environment designed to help every player perform, recover, and enjoy the social side that makes rugby, well, rugby. It’s a thriving setup with room for committed competitors, social players, returning legends, and brand-new recruits. Senior rugby at ORRFC runs on more than talent and teamwork. It’s powered by a brilliant group of people who make the whole machine hum. At the top is Director of Rugby, Richie Andrews, setting the tone with his experience, ambition, and ability to get the best out of every squad. Alongside him is Club Captain, Rob Forsythe, the heartbeat of the senior setup, leading from the front on and off the pitch and keeping the club culture strong.
Behind the scenes, the Playing Committee and Operations Committee work tirelessly to handle the logistics, planning, coordination, and a thousand little details that no one notices until they’re missing. They’re the reason fixtures run smoothly, players are supported, and the club continues to grow with structure rather than chaos. Together, this team creates the foundation that allows senior rugby at ORRFC to thrive; organised, competitive, welcoming, and always moving forward.
