Beckenham v Old Reigatian 1st XV: Match Report

Last Saturday Old Reigatian travelled to League Leaders Beckenham RFC. OR’s have struggled recently with injuries and unavailability’s and this week proved to be no different. With ten Regular 1st XV players either injured or unavailable, the trip to South London was going to test the strength in depth, but also provide an opportunity for younger lads to get a taste of 1st XV Rugby and learn what is required at this level.

Old Reigatian 2nd XV v Battersea Ironsides XV, Match Report

So, this season’s OR 2nd XV / Battersea Ironside trilogy concluded with a resounding victory for the visitors. No excuses – we were outplayed, rather like Exeter at Toulouse, by a superior side, who were able to edge up through the gears every time they needed to pull away from us.

Sidcup v Old Reigatian 1st XV, Match Report

On Saturday Old Reigatian travelled to Sidcup to play their last league fixture of the season. Sidcup who started the season with fixture defeats on the trot have managed to turn their season around and going into this fixture hadn’t lost since December winning their last nine fixtures. Old Reigatian could finish a clear third with a Win if Medway lost to expected Champions Old Alleynians.

Old Reigatian 2nd XV v Cobham 2nd XV, Match Report

As the final scenes of the afternoon’s proceedings were playing out, with Harry Smith and Aran Courtney Walker having combined to score one final try and complete the rout of Cobham, thoughts turned to reflect on THE performance [save the best until last] of the season, and also the journey that has been made by this whole group from the early signs of life against Dorking, in September, to the formed beast that is the Old Reigatian 2nd XV.

Old Reigatian 1st XV v Gravesend, Match Report

Old Reigatian hosted Gravesend in the last Home league fixture this season. Which on the whole has been a very successful season with OR’s in the mix to win the league three fixtures ago when they faced Battersea at Home and the chances of the title slipping away with a 25-19 loss.

Old Reigatian 2nd XV v Old Caterhamiams 2nd XV (Friendly)

With Weybridge Vandals unable to honour the league fixture, a friendly was arranged at Park Lane, and, despite the atrocious weather conditions, ORs managed to secure a comfortable victory against spirited opponents, with some outstanding passages of play, alongside a few lapses in concentration, which kept the game flowing and Cats competing to the final whistle.

Medway RFC v Old Reigatian 1st XV, Match Report

Saturday OR’s travelled to Rochester in Kent to play Medway RFC. Medway, like last week’s opponents have hit a rich vein of form recently winning their last six games. Once Old Reigatians are struggling with injuries missing key players such as Tom Allen, Dan Jones, Sam Foreman & Ryan Taylor Travers.
